About the author

Eric Stemmler

I’m currently working as a data analyst and engineer. I work as a consultant for statistics, R and software development for data analysis. I have been teaching statistics and R programming. I have been a researcher in traffic systems and naturalistic driving behaviour. For more details see my CV.

I understand statistics as the fundamental logic of science. It plays an (increasingly) important role in our society, because it is statistics via which conclusions, are drawn and decisions are made. Statistical findings in science that eventually trickle-down into peoples lifes have an overall effect on society. I like the Bayessian interpretation of statististics and it’s methods for data analysis.

I am especially interested in Bayesian statistics and topics related to human factors, a branch of psychology that looks into the interaction of humans with machines, computers and organizations.

I have experience in developing online data analysis web applications using R shiny and SQL databases and GIS.
